While the episode was the smallest audience watching a Voice Grand Finale ever, Nine noted it was also one of the closest votes ever for a winner. The winner was Chris Sebastian, brother of Guy Sebastian. The last season of The Voice aired on Channel Nine before the format moved networks. At the end of the Grand Finale, Australia will decide which of the four finalists will be crowned The Voice of 2021. The Grand Finale will see the top four artists take to the stage with their coach for a show-stopping duet. When the coaches only have two artists left, each is singing for survival and the coveted position of being their coach’s artist in the Grand Finale. The Semi Final really steps up the intensity. Also new this season, is the introduction of the Instant Decision, where the coaches can decide immediately after an Artist performs whether to send them through to the Semi Final. With just two spots on each team up for grabs, the coaches must send three artists from each of their teams home. Throughout the Knockouts the top 20 will perform, trying to secure their place in the Semi Final. If the artist gets more than one chair to turn, the coaches must pitch to the artist and then they must decide which team to join. If the artist gets a chair turn, they are through to The Cut. Throughout the Blinds, artists have one shot to sing for the coaches. This season of The Voice begins at the Blind Auditions, where more than 80 artists take to the stage with hopes to turn a big red chair. Each coach can only take five artists through to the Knockouts.Īlso new this season is the introduction of augmented reality technology, adding a new scale and visual dimension to the design and performances across the series. After the Blind Auditions are complete, each artist must immediately face their coach to prove their star power. New this season, the coaches can have an unlimited number of artists on their teams, but the more artists they turn for, the more they must lose in the following round – The Cut. Ultimately, if a coach has blocked another coach, they’re unable to pitch for that artist to be on their team. A block can be dealt during a performance and anonymously. Each coach has the ultimate power to block a rival coach from getting an artist they turned a chair for. Raising the stakes during the Blinds and heating up competition between the coaches, is The Block.
